Australia unfortunately lags seriously behind Europe and the U.S when it comes to green roof technology.
Urban Agriculture is holding a conference in Brisbane working towards correcting this shortfall.
The advantages of green roofs are still to be appreciated within Australia. Experience from Europe and the US has shown that they improve thermal and accoustic insulation, improve stormwater management, provide visual beauty as well as habitat creation.
Within a dense urban environment these have got to be all good things.
