David Trubridge is a New Zealand designer who is passionate about the natural environment. Passionate about simplicity in design, the use of low impact sustainable processes and natural materials.His designs are all skeletal in nature, not trying to hide how they are made, but using this as part of the design. The two items above, the Ruth Rocker and the Ulu lamp are typical of his work.
David has also set up a design incubator near Hawkes Bay in New Zealand called Cicada Studios. Cicada Studios is an incubator for graduates of design schools who specialise in furniture design.
